External evaluation of the international program "Stop TB in the North-West Russia in our lifetime" (2014-2018)

Cooperation of the Arkhangelsk Oblast, The Norwegian Heart and Lung Patient Organization and the LHL international tuberculosis foundation has been going on for more than 20 years.

 The nature and direction of cooperation have changed over time.

Since 2014, the five-year international program "Stop TB in the North-West Russia in our lifetime" has been implemented.

The main coordinators are the Ministry of Health of the Arkhangelsk Region (Russia), the Federal Public Health Institution "Medical and Sanitary Unit No. 29 of the Federal Penitentiary Service", the Office of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Arkhangelsk Region, the State Budget Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "Northern State Medical University", Easy Breathing Charity Fund (Russia), LHL international tuberculosis foundation (Norway), acting on the basis of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the parties on December 20, 2013.

In June 2018, an expert evaluation of this program began. The evaluation will help to record the results achieved at the implementation at all levels; and will provide partners with recommendations for the further eradication of tuberculosis in the Arkhangelsk region and, in general, in the North-West Russia.

The group of experts included:

Titkov Dmitry Anatolievich, Project Manager, Department of International Affairs and Research, National Institute of Health and Social Welfare, THL, Finland

Stakhanov Vladimir Anatolyevich, Professor, Head of the department of phthisiology, The Russian National Research Medical University named after N.I. Pirogov.

Respected experts continue their work on writing conclusions and recommendations.
